Based in Baltimore, MD, Brightview Senior Living, LLC opened its first senior living community in Maryland in 1999. Today, Brightview offers thirty-five communities in eight states. The communities include Independent Living, Assisted Living, Personal Care, and Dementia Care options.
In addition to specific site design projects, JMC worked with Brightview management and elder care experts to revise and update the Wellspring Garden (dementia care) and general site design standards. These standards are used for the design and redevelopment of all of Brightview’s facililites and take into consideration site, architecture, permitting, wellness, physical and mental therapy, accessibility and safety factors. JMC is continuing to work with Brightview to keep the standards current and to incorporate the latest research and product information as it becomes available.

Originally constructed in the 1950’s, the Cross County Shopping Center was one of the first open air shopping centers to be developed in the country. It sits on 71 acres and is prominently located at the junction of the New York State Thruway and Cross County Parkway in Yonkers, NY.
JMC is proud to be part of the redevelopment team that obtained approvals to expand the Center from 1.3 million to nearly 1.6 million square feet as part of a $300 million renovation which transformed the aged Center into a modern, state-of-the-art regional destination. The center features a mix of uses including retail, restaurants, banks, the Yonkers Extension of Westchester Community College and a Hyatt Place Hotel which opened in 2015.

JMC has enjoyed a long-standing working relationship with Target Corporation that continues today. We have been retained by Target to work on many of their new and remodel projects in NY, NJ, CT, and PA.
Our work typically includes the initial site planning of the Target retail development to determine whether the property is a good fit for the Target store and potentially other inline retail and/or pad sites. If required, we continue with our design services to process the necessary permitting to obtain the approvals required in each particular location.
Many unique design elements have been incorporated into various Target projects through the years, including: the design of the first triple signalized left-hand turn in the State of New Jersey, large stormwater culverts to convey the overflow floodwaters from an existing on-site stream, bridged access drives spanning sensitive wetland mitigation areas within a SWRPA, construction on landfills, extensive stormwater management systems above and below ground, rock cut slopes and pile supported structures.
