A recently approved (June 2016) parking expansion project located in the Town of North Castle.  The project, currently under construction, is located just north of Interstate 684 on the east side of NY Route 22.  This modest parking expansion of 13 spaces was required to meet the demand of an existing office park which includes general office space and a dental office.

Working with the Town of North Castle Planning Board, Town Consulting Engineer, Conservation Board and Highway Department, JMC was able to secure approval of the parking expansion, which resulted in minimal disturbance to Town-regulated wetlands and wetland buffer.  Wetland mitigation met the Town’s required 2:1 ratio of disturbance area to mitigation area.  This resulted in 100% of the existing wetland area and associated buffers to be planted with wetland species and/or removal of dead trees/invasive vegetation, therefore enhancing the natural environment for wildlife and water quality.

The parking expansion incorporates the latest L.E.D. lighting fixture technology as well as green infrastructure to treat stormwater runoff from the parking lot via a vegetated swale.
