Temple Beth El, founded in 1949, is a vibrant and active congregation of 500 families in Northern Westchester. JMC was retained to work on the expansion of the existing Temple building and site parking. Environmental sensitivity to the parking expansion was required since adjacent wetlands and wetland buffers impacted the expansion area. As part of the stormwater design, above and below ground stormwater management practices were utilized. Extensive wetland buffer plantings were installed to enhance the existing wetland buffer.
The Temple Beth El project received a Citation Award from AIA Westchester + Hudson Valley at the 2015 Design Awards.
